The Newcastle location of CK Game, a sneaker boutique owned in part by U.K. rapper Fredo, has recently launched.
The company’s largest store to date, the new location in Newcastle, follows the inauguration of flagships in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, and Liverpool. The space, which spans two floors, has been furnished with its recognizable aesthetic, including dazzling lights, a marble-like interior, and a simple footwear arrangement.
The expansive 1540 square foot retail space, which is housed in the city’s upscale Square shopping mall, is the go-to location for Newcastle’s sneaker and streetwear culture, bringing in exclusive collections from brands like Nike, Supreme, and Off-White. Alicia Thompson, CEO of Kick Game, expressed her opinion on the new location:
“It’s a very exciting time for us as we bring the Kick Game brand, together with the customer experience and access to premium products, to Newcastle. We’ve been keeping an eye on Newcastle for a while, and we’ve finally found a place and location for our store that would brilliantly display the amazing footwear and clothing we source.
Robert Franks, the creator of Kick Game, continued, “As the sneaker retailer approaches its 10-year anniversary, this is the sixth Kick Game location to open. The beginnings of a streetwear revolution in the North of England appear to be Kick Game’s entrance in Newcastle.

ASK GLENS FALLS You feel as though you’ve traveled back in time when you enter 34 South St., but the proprietors claim they don’t believe in the idea of man-made time, thus there aren’t any clocks to be found there.
On Monday, sisters Lori and Lisa Caringi launched their brand-new consignment store Fashion Follies. By the end of the fourth day, they had a returning client.
Indira, a young woman who claimed to have recently moved to the area from Arizona, works close by and happened upon the store after her shift. She then returned the next day.
A woman who was sad that she missed the opportunity at another recently opened South Street business came in, and the sisters are now urging local artists to bring in their work to be sold at the new store.
The Caringi family restored the business to evoke the “Great Gatsby era,” adding gold pillars and paper lanterns to one area and lamps with retro aviator glasses and fuzzy hats to another.
A wall of shoe shelves, a case loaded with real and costume diamonds, a section for men, and roll racks of various designs, colors, and sizes of jeans, dresses, and sweaters can all be found in between the colorful displays.
