What is Islam?

Islam, which implies obedience in Arabic, Islam refers to the framework of surrender to God’s will under His rules. By using that straightforward description, we can see everything in the cosmos, including the planets, plants, and animals. The state of Islam, or submission to God’s will, as they all adhere to the natural routines that God has established for them.

People are special because we have the freedom to follow or disobey God’s commands.

Islam is neither named after a specific person, as is the case with Buddhism or Christianity. Nor is it named after a particular group of people, as is the case with Hinduism or Judaism. Simply said, Islam is the practice of living in accordance with the will of God.

Who is a Muslim?

One who adheres to Islam is a Muslim. Putting “mu” at the start of a word in Arabic is comparable to adding an “er” at the end of a word in English. In English, a person who farms is called a farmer, a person who works is called a worker. And a person who builds is called a builder. Similar to English, a Muslim is someone who practises Islam.

Who is Prophet Muhammad ﷺ?

Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him) was born in the Arabian town of Mecca in the year 570. From the time of his youth, he was known as the most honest and trustworthy person. Though he lived in a culture of idol worship, he always knew in his heart that there was only one God. At the age of 40, God chose Muhammad ﷺ to become a prophet to deliver the message of God’s will to the people. His mission was especially important because after him there was no other prophet to come.

Muhammad ﷺ was the last and final messenger of God. He was the last in a long line of prophets, many of whom are known from the Christian and Jewish traditions such as Adam, Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Moses, David, Solomon, John the Baptist, and Jesus (Peace be upon them all).

Throughout the 23 years of his prophethood in the face of hardship and opposition. Muhammad ﷺ worked to communicate the divine instruction to his followers.

What is The Quran?

The Quran was literally revealed to Muhammad over the course of his prophethood and is considered to be the genuine word of God. God’s last and ultimate revelation to mankind is the Quran, which contains instructions for every area of life. Numerous prophets have been dispatched throughout human history to communicate revealed messages to the populace.

But over the course of generations, people modify and add to the revelations made to them, taking away from what was first made clear to the point where the original revelation was forgotten. Another prophet would eventually appear to correct the earlier message. The Quran is the final word, and God Himself has ensured its preservation. All prior communications were left to be preserved by their own people.

What Are Hadiths?

The Hadith is a collection of recorded actions and sayings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. They present the example of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, the way he lived his life from general characteristics to the smallest details of his actions as well as the things he said such as advice warnings, or explanations of the Quran. Together, the knowledge that we gain from the Hadiths forms the Sunnah (tradition of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, which all Muslims aim to follow.
